Fire Starters: Melt some wax in a pan that you don’t want to use for food again and set up in three areas the equipment for each fire starter:
- Place some sawdust into a cardboard egg carton and carefully fill with melted wax, add a small piece of string in the centre to act as wick. Leave to set
- Roll 2 or 3 sheets of newspaper into tight rolls and tie with string about every 10cm. Dip into melted wax until saturated, leave to dry and then cut into individual starters
- Roll soft string around a match, securing with a half hitch at the end, but don’t wrap the head. Dip the whole thing into melted wax. This is a hunters match which when struck will burn slowly and for much longer than an ordinary match. As an added bonus they are also waterproof
Patrol T-Shirts: Each patrol to design their own t-shirt design. Print off on the 'iron-on' paper and hey presto!
