Indoor Games
Splat: Form a circle with one person in the middle which will be the 'Splatter'. The 'Splatter' will spin in the centre and will then point at a person at random. The person who is pointed at, will duck down, and the Explorers either side have to turn and face each other, and the fastest to say 'Splat' with their hand gun wins. The slowest person sits down. When it gets to the last 2 Explorers, they stand back to back and take a step forward after every word which is said by the 'Splatter' until the keyword is said (keyword chosen at start of game), then the fastest to turn and 'Splat' wins the game.
Head it, Catch it: Form a circle with one person in the middle. The person in the middle goes around the circle, throwing the ball at each Explorer in turn. As the person in the middle throws the ball, they shout 'Head it' or 'Catch it'. The Explorer in the circle, must do the opposite, so if the ball is thrown and 'Head it' was shouted, then the ball must be caught.
Dodgeball: The group is split into 2 halfs. The aim of the game is to eliminate the members of the other team by throwing the ball and hitting them or by catching the ball when it is thrown towards yourself. If the ball is caught, one of your team members who had previously been eliminated can re-enter the game. When there is only one member of one team remaining, a countdown remains of 30seconds. If the solo Explorer is still 'alive' after the countdown, then all of their team rejoins.
**Equipment - Ball**
Bradball: Two Explorers are chosen to try and eliminate the rest of the group. The 2 Explorers' goal is to get everyone else out by bringing the other players into contact with the ball. When one of the 2 have the ball they can't move, so they can either throw the ball at someone or pass it to the other person who can move freely until they get the ball. If the ball makes contact with the you, then you sit out and wait. The game ends when there are only 2 Explorers remaining from the large group. These 2 are declared the winners.
**Equipment - Ball**
Tyre Game: The group is split into 2 equal teams (size, male/female etc). Line the teams up at each side of the hall facing each other and give them all a number (so that there is a member of each team with the same number). The aim of the game is to get the tyre back to your team. The tyre is placed in the centre of the hall and a number is shouted out (example "Number 4"), in this case number 4 of each team runs into the middle and tries to get the tyre back to their team.
**Equipment - Tyre**
Over-Under: Each patrol lines up, one person behind the other in single file. The front person has a bean bag or tennis ball and if they start by passing the object over their head to the next Explorer, then the next Explorer will pass it under their legs to the next Explorer, the next will go over their head and so on... when the Explorer at the back of the line gets the bag/ball, they run to the front and continue. The game ends when the 'first person' who started the game as come back to the front. The quickest team wins.
**Equipment - Bean bag or Tennis Ball**
Knot Relay: The Patrols line up in single file. They each have a piece of rope. In order they run up to the assigned leader, and the leader will tell them a knot to tie. Once they have tied the knot, they run back to their team, and the next person runs up and ties a knot. The Patrol to have all their Explorers back first wins. If one Patrol has less members, then one or two of them will go twice.
**Equipment - Rope**
First Aid Relay: The Patrols will line up in single file. The same as the Knot Relay, but instead of tying a knot, the Explorer needs to do a procedure of first aid (recovery position, arm sling, elevation sling, wound dressing etc.)
**Equipment - training bandages, wound dressings etc**
Malteser on Flour: Fill a bowl with flour (compact it, so it is totally full), then place a plate on top of the bowl and turn upside down. Remove the bowl, and the flour if it was compacted enough should take the shape of the bowl. Place a malteser on top of the mound. Now each Explorer takes it in turn to remove as much flour as they like from the bottom of the mound, until, eventually it will collapse. The idea is that the mount doesn't collapse on your turn, because if it does, you need to pick out the malteser using only your mouth - can be messy!!
**Equipment - Malteser, flour, bowl and a plate**
Chair Game: All the Explorers form a circle and hold hands/wrists. A chair is put in the centre of the circle, and the aim of the game is not to touch the chair. The Explorers will try to pull/push the circle so that someone touches the chair. If an Explorer touches the chair, they are out or if the circle is broken then the 2 Explorers who broke are out.
**Equipment needed - Chair**

As the person in the middle throws the ball, they shout 'Head it' or 'Catch it'.
